East Atlanta Community Association
The East Atlanta Community Association (EACA) was formed in the 1980s to help improve the neighborhood of East Atlanta. The organization aims to promote a high quality of life and foster a renewed sense of community among East Atlanta residents. It has several committees which are in charge of the various aspects of the neighborhood. Some of the committees include Beautification, Transportation, Public Safety, Education, Finance, Land Use and Zoning, Parks, Marketing, and Membership. Residents are encouraged to volunteer in any of the committees they may be interested in.
In the past years, the East Atlanta Community Association has succeeded in making a difference in this area of Atlanta. With the help of volunteers and the cooperation of residents and local businesses, it has implemented a number of projects and has provided ample support to the local government in various community endeavors. Some of the accomplishments of the East Atlanta Community Association are the new library, Earth Day East Atlanta cleanup, street improvements, and new sidewalks.
The East Atlanta Community Association also helps in organizing local events such as the commemoration of the Battle of Atlanta and the East Atlanta Beer Fest. The organization also works with the East Atlanta Business Association and the Police and Fire Departments.
